RECIPE: Frozen Chocolate Covered Bananas
Recently my roommate came home with these:I love bananas. After oranges, pears, and plums, bananas are my favorite fruit. I also inherited a massive addiction to chocolate, thanks to my mom (although maybe the gene was watered down because I like milk chocolate, whereas she will eat the darkest chocolate you can find). So when the roommate brought these home, I was pretty excited. Then I realized that with a few ingredients and some self-control to not eat all the chocolate, I could make them.
It was my roommate’s day off, so I asked her to take photos while I cooked. She had to take a photo of this banana sticker. I went to the website, and “go bananas after dark” isn’t what you think…if you’re thinking that it’s some sort of creepy banana porn site. Instead it’s some recipes for grilling bananas. I think I prefer this over what I thought it could be.
Not so attractive, but still pretty delicious. The salted ones turned out the prettiest, although those were the ones I did first, when the chocolate was hottest.
Rating: 3 of 5 glasses of wine. Does wine go well with bananas? I think next time I’d change up the kind of chocolate I use and experiment with some other toppings. It’s a fun dessert during the summer, and maybe even a pretty easy treat for a baby/wedding shower. I’d have to try some different things to really make up my mind for sure.
